Happy Holidays.

It's been a busy holiday season. On the commercial side, we have completed several exciting high profile projects. Our residential clients are showing renewed interest in whole-house music systems, surround sound upgrades, lighting automation, and general purpose iPad home automation applications.  We are hearing more and more "Do it for me"...Our clients want to maximize their time usage, and want systems that are fully integrated, programmed and installed.

Value Engineering: Getting more for less

Making a decision on buying home technology can be a daunting effort.  There are endless choices, and a vastly wide range of price points. The key is to find the right combination of functionality, performance and value.

Most of our clients don't buy technology often (especially for a new home).  The customer typically educates themselves on the latest products, then attempts to place value on each aspect of the purchase. It's a confusing but necessary process. At Digital, we remove the confusion. We use a method known as 'value engineering' to make sense of the purchase. This is a collaborative process that combines our product knowledge, installation experience, and the customer's direct input on what's important.

Value-based engineering produces a high degree of assurance in meeting the clients functional, performance and economical goals.  The result offers the customer meaningful alternatives, and keeps their primary goals front and center.

One way to think about this process is to imagine two dials that we can turn.  One dial represents performance (or function), the other price.  Our objective is to find the right combination of both.  This is the formula for successful technology projects which finds that sweet spot between price AND performance. More than just a process at Digital, value engineering is at the core of our "philosophy" in understanding our customer's needs. The result...Happy clients!
